Iranian, Chinese Companies Mull Joint Power Projects
Iranian and Chinese electricity companies agreed on Wednesday to implement joint international power generation and transfer projects.

Head of Iran Power and Water Equipment and Service Export Company (Sunir) Bahman Salehi said during a meeting in Tehran with a Chinese delegation of refinery, petrochemical, electrical and financing companies that the two sides could also finance the industrial projects.

The Chinese delegation members, for their part, welcomed the idea and said cooperation could include electrical equipment supplies and project transformers.

Sunir Company is currently involved in 17 power transfer projects in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Oman, Iraq, Syria, Ethiopia, the Iraqi Kurdistan, Sri Lanka and Armenia.

Last year, Iran and China inked 17 MoUs to improve economic cooperation and trade relations.
