Iran Starts Construction of New Coking Plant
The Islamic Republic of Iran has officially started construction of a new coking plant in the northern province of Mazandaran.

With a planned annual capacity of 300,000 tonnes, the new plant will be constructed with an investment of $100 million on a 30 month schedule.
Savadkooh coking plant is being built by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization.
In addition, a coal washing plant will be built simultaneously beside the new coking plant with an investment of $10 million.
Iran’s current coke making capacity is about 1.2 million tonne per year.
