Fifth World Forum for Businesswomen in the Islamic World to be held in Egypt
A group of Iranian businesswomen who are members of Chambers of Commerce attended the Fifth World Forum for Businesswomen in the Islamic World which was held on 22-24 April, 2010 in Cairo-Egypt.
According to the report of ICCIM Public Relations, this forum was held under the patronage of Mrs. "Suzan Mubarak" andunder the supervision of ICCI with the participation of more than 500 businesswomen from 38 Islamic countries.
ICCIM Advisor for Women Entrepreneurship, "Seyedeh Fatemeh Moghimi" described about the status of businesswomen in Iran in this forum, noting that about 4500 businesswomen are active in Iran, and 42% of Iranian women have jobs and 65% of students in Iranian universities are female.
She also declared that innovation, development of production, job creation, promotion of health as well as economic development are the most important objectives which can be achieved through empowering women in the country.
Pointing to some of the most important activities done by ICCIM, she said these activities include exchanging businesswomen trade delegations, encouraging development of entrepreneurship culture between Iranian women as well as establishing associations relating to businesswomen in Iran.
She finally declared about ICCIM interest in hosting World Forum for Businesswomen in the near future.
