The Ministers of Economy of Iran and Syria stressed on holding a Joint meeting among the Ministers of Economy of Iran, Syria, Turkey and Iraq.
Seyed Shamseddin Hosseini, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in his meeting with Lima’ Marie’ Asi, Minister of Economy of Syria, emphasized on the necessity of expanding the economic relations between the two countries, adding: we should endeavor to expand the level of economic and trade relations to reach the level of political and strategic relations, through preparing the necessary grounds and bases.
Based on the Department of Public Relations, Organization for Investment, Economic and technical Assistance of Iran, Dr. Hosseini proposing establishment of Iran-Syria Joint Investment Fund as well as holding  seminars on introducing Iran and Syria Investment opportunities, stipulated: Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance of the Islamic republic of Iran is ready to host the joint meeting of the ministers of economy of Iran, Syria, Turkey and Iraq here in Tehran.
Ms.  Lima’ Marie’ Asi, Minister of Economy of Syria, comparing political relations, regarded the volume of economic relations between the two countries insufficient  and called for expanding mutual economic relations.
Agreeing with establishment of a joint Iranian-Syrian insurance company, she regarded holding specialized investment forums among the main issues for strengthening economic relations between the two countries and stipulated:  Syria, too, strongly emphasizes on implementation of the agreements reached.
She evaluated regional cooperation an important issue nowadays and said that Iran, Syria, Turkey and Iraq can have regional cooperation in the same line.
