Iran Chamber Hosts Workshop on
More than 80 representatives from Iranian banks and local chambers of commerce and industry gathered at the premises of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines (ICCIM) on November 21, 2011 to participate in the workshop on "SMEs Development "which was jointly organized and supported by ICCIM and the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI)
The workshop was moderated by Mr. Kambiz Mirkarimi, Deputy Director General for Multilateral Trade Relations of ICCIM, and inaugurated by Dr. Noghrekar Shirazi, Secretary General and Mr. Gholam Hossein Shafei, Vice President of ICCIM with a short speech on the importance of SMEs in economic development. As the next seeker, Mr. Khodamorad Ahmadi, President of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) delivered his speech on Iran's Experiences and programs for the Development of SMEs.
The workshop aimed to provide SMEs with an overview of the required knowledge and skills in financial management, recognizing the challenges they are faced with and overview of the policies and programs that successful countries deployed to foster small and medium enterprises in their own country.
In the second part of the workshop the participants made close contribution with the lecturer and shared their experiences and theie view points on the subject.
The workshop was delivered and conducted very well by Mr. George Abraham, Chairman of CACCI SMEs Development Council, on the following topics:
a) Enhancing the Pro-Business Environment & Enabling SMEs
b) Entrepreneurship: A Development Perspective for the Promotion of SMEs
c) SME Development in Singapore
In the afternoon session the participants divided into 5 groups and discussed the Best Practices and Policies for the development of SMEs on various aspects of their business within economy.
